Fitzpatrick impressed the scholarship committee with his tenacity and sense of responsibility. Fitzpatrick refused have his life defined by a series of serious family challenges, including an autoimmune disease that has stricken his mother. Instead, he wanted “to be a better man today than yesterday.”
Nathan was an impressive young man who demonstrated a maturity well beyond his years. He refused to let life’s difficulties get the best of him, and realized that he was responsible for overcoming the challenges that are put in his way. He understood that he was responsible for his own happiness.
Nathan enrolled in Hobart and William Smith College in Geneva, NY.
