As a first-generation immigrant, Yashaswini learned about perseverance and life’s challenges throughout her educational years. As the first Youth Poet Laureate of Portland, ME, she uses her accomplishments as a model for marginalized youth, teaching them to use their voices along with compassion and concern for others.
Yashaswini plans to attend Suffolk University.
