Mission trips to Africa and Guatemala taught Zac about finding joy in the face of poverty — and fueled his mission to be positive and assist others. In addition to becoming a leader and role model at school, he also left his mark as a Boy Scout, spearheading an effort to construct a 20-foot long bridge for his Eagle Scout project.
Zac also developed a clever program that collected unused funds from student meal plans at the University of Maine, and distributed them to a local food security group. He demonstrated an effective mix of leadership skills, compassion, and ingenuity.
Zac enrolled in the University of Maine, majoring in mechanical engineering.
