Carolyne leads by example rather than charisma. Soft-spoken and naturally introverted, she quietly commands a space. Carolyne served as the first student representative to the Bangor School Board. She became a voice for students and was especially interested in school safety and culture. Because of her integrity, the position of student representative will continue.
Carolyne couples a passion for learning with concern for the environment. For a humanities class, she completed a two-year capstone project that identified sustainable food options for the future. While she could have counted this project for a history class, she decided to complete an additional project on the effects of hydro dam removal.
Carolyne also focused on community service, including clothing drives and fundraisers for Ukraine. Despite her busy schedule, she maintains a pen pal relationship with a fifth grader.
Carolyne will attend Bowdoin College in the fall.
